PID
heading

PID is a force multiplier – one solution for multiple state programs with potential to simultaneously solve federal goals enacted by Congress in 2005 (REAL ID) and 2010 (health care). The strongest identification solution available to citizens, PID substantially reduces identity and medical identity fraud and streamlines state processes by establishing a uniform identification policy and infrastructure.

A PID credential is a core credential issued by state governments and used by state agencies, financial institutions, medical providers, educational institutions and employers. It becomes the breeder credential to issue driver licenses, allow entry and access, and identify customers and employees, patients, students, applicants and others. The PID is the primary identification credential that will stop individuals from obtaining state services using fraudulently-obtained documents and prevents individuals from creating and using multiple identities and aliases for services.

DIGITALIZATION OF IDENTITY

What makes PID stronger than any credential is the process by which an individual is identified. The PID process moves away from paper-based document verification to the digitalization of identity using biographical information and unique physical characteristics of the individual.

As state residents apply for a service, the agency or department sends Seven core pieces of information to TASCET: name, address, gender, date of birth and country of origin along with a facial and finger image. The Seven is matched against individuals previously identified by other states and organizations in the healthcare, financial and other sectors. Notification of a TSeven (a TASCET-certified or unique identity) or an alias attempt is provided within moments, which ensures the individual is not fraudulently using a multiple identity to receive services. Once the TSeven is established, states can issue a PID credential with confidence. This project registers 250,000 citizens in each State and puts the infrastructure in place to identify all residents once PID Project is completed.
