PROGRAM BENEFITS

REAL ID

PID provides states a more economical and strategic solution. PID becomes the state's breeder document to issue driver licenses. It identifies citizens and is used by state agencies, financial institutions, medical providers, schools and employers. It expedites compliance of Real ID and significantly reduces the cost of implementation. The opt-out option is attractive to citizens that do not travel by air or enter federal buildings. After initial identification process, PID enables the state to verify and confirm identities with confidence.

E-VERIFY/IMMIGRATION

PID strengthens the current E-Verify process by providing an enforcement tool to identify individuals in the field or at the place of employment and prevents the illegal use of a valid Social Security number. It provides an identity credential that can be used for commerce or report crimes. Eliminates document mills and weeds out existing individual holders of illegal documents.

FEMA DISASTER PROGRAMS

Victims often lose identification cards and documents during disasters and have nothing to prove their identity. Prevents identity theft in the wake of a disaster and enables FEMA employees to verify the identities of victims at the scene with or without the card. Allows employees to account for, transport and provide assistance to victims while preventing the loss of billions of dollars in fraudulent assistance payments. PID increases relief effort efficiencies between all stakeholders and communities.

LAW ENFORCEMENT

PID improves officer safety in the field as handheld scanners coupled with a back-end enforcement process provide officers a tool used to verify an identity during routine traffic stops, emergencies and other situations. Enables interoperability between states because they are operating with the same identification infrastructure. Increases Amber Alert effectiveness and other missing children initiatives and strengthens Registered Sex Offenders Program as non-compliant offenders fleeing a state could be located when opening a bank account, receiving health care, etc.

Allows States to identify beneficiaries/clients and gives providers a tool to verify the identity at the point of service and receive real-time confirmation of their eligibility. It prevents internal fraud such as up-coding by providing the mechanism to record the time and attendance of a visit which confirms to the state department that the visit actually occurred. PUBLIC ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS
